Website Security Upgrades – Comodo SSL Protection

Sunday, August 10, 2025

To strengthen the security and trust of all websites hosted on our servers, we are implementing trusted, signed Comodo SSL Certificates across all public-facing websites.

This upgrade will:

  • Protect your website visitors from potential malware and phishing attempts.

  • Secure all email traffic to and from your domain.

  • Encrypt form submissions (contact forms, order forms, login forms, etc.).

  • Secure your admin areas and other sensitive pages.

  • Protect any website-related connections and transactions from interception.

  • Remove browser security warnings for all visitors (common with self-signed or no SSL).

  • Boost your Google ranking, as Google prioritizes HTTPS-secured websites.

  • Increase overall server security, reducing unwanted breaches and blocking malicious traffic from high-risk regions such as North Korea, Russia, and China.

Why a trusted certificate matters:
Self-signed SSL certificates do not provide the same level of trust and recognition as a signed Comodo SSL. Major browsers will continue to display “Not Secure” warnings for self-signed or missing certificates, which can scare away visitors and harm your credibility. A trusted, signed SSL ensures every visitor sees a secure padlock icon, giving them confidence in your website and brand.

XMLA is now mandating the use of SSL certificates issued by trusted Certificate Authorities (CAs) to enhance security and prevent man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks. By enforcing this requirement, XMLA ensures that all communications are encrypted and authenticated, making it significantly more difficult for attackers to intercept or alter data during transmission. This move aligns with industry best practices, as certificates signed by trusted CAs are recognized by browsers and systems, providing a chain of trust that is essential for secure communications.

For developers and system administrators, it's crucial to obtain SSL certificates from recognized CAs and ensure that these certificates are properly installed and maintained. Regularly updating and renewing certificates, as well as monitoring for any potential vulnerabilities, will help maintain the integrity and security of your systems.

By adhering to these standards, XMLA aims to provide a more secure environment for data exchange, protecting both the organization and its users from potential cyber threats.

We highly recommend you take advantage of this upgrade for the protection of your website, your customers, and your business reputation.

Thank you for trusting us to keep your online presence safe and secure.
